Description: This project involved conducting a structural analysis and geotechnical investigation for an existing building in Akaki, where construction had been halted over 20 years ago after the completion of two stories. The client intended to resume construction and sought to determine the feasibility of extending the building beyond four stories. As consultants, we assessed the current structural integrity along with the soil and foundation conditions to ensure safety, stability, and compliance with modern engineering standards. Based on our findings, we provided recommendations regarding the potential for additional stories and outlined necessary reinforcement or design modifications.

The scope of work included testing subgrade materials, borrow materials for capping and sub-base, quarry rock quality, sand and water quality, concrete compressive strength, and concrete mix design. These tests ensured that all materials met the required standards for durability, safety, and structural integrity across diverse terrains and project scales.

The scope of testing included subgrade materials, borrow materials for capping and sub-base, quarry rock quality, sand and water quality, concrete compressive strength, concrete mix design for bridge construction, and DCP testing.
